Créé le 1er janvier 2009, l’IRISSO est le fruit du rapprochement de l’IRISES et du CERSO. Les travaux de l’IRISSO s’attachent aux acteurs des mondes économiques et aux relations de travail ; ils s’interrogent sur les formes de l’action publique, notamment à travers les opérations de construction des catégories de compréhension du monde social (production et usages des savoirs) et aux formes qu’empruntent la mobilisation des acteurs ; ils analysent enfin les différents niveaux territoriaux où s’inscrit leur action. Comme les autres centres de recherches de Paris-Dauphine l’IRISSO étudie les acteurs et les rapports économiques et marchands. Mais il englobe également dans son champ les acteurs non marchands et l’action publique dont l’activité conditionne les mondes économiques.
The theme of political and social regulation currently tends to constitute the main focus and sphere of the laboratory's work. Specifically, we have chosen to consider this theme from three perspectives: the first concerns changes in modes of regulation of social relations, in and outside the world of work, and recomposition of identities and associated explosion of new forms of mobilisation and claims to rights. The second concerns the redefinition of the territories of the social and the political, and of their boundaries, which characterises public action today and which is sometimes covered by the term ""governance"". The third concerns the production and the uses of the various forms of expertise, categories of thought and classification rights or norms, as ""tools"" of political regulation.
