Abstract (EN)
We give a brief overview of some trends of research at CEREMADE in Image Processing that started about 30 years ago with pioneering work in PDEs and variational methods for Image Processing. This involved thorough study of the Mumford-Shah image segmentation energy minimization, axiomatization of Image processing for image denoising, important contributions to active contour models, Elastic deformable curves and surfaces for segmentation, and geodesic methods. Among the various applications, medical image analysis has been an important motivation that lead to many new methods, with many collaborations with hospital and industry
