Abstract (EN)
This article gives continuity to the specialized literature on studies of the regional deconcentration of the manufacturing industry in Brazil. The methodology used is based on statistical analysis of main components and grouping. Such techniques proved to be adequate for the characterization and differentiation of the movement occurred in the period 2003/2013, when the economy went through an initial period of growth, followed by a strong deceleration. In addition to the use of traditional variables found in previous studies such as employment volume, number of establishments and wage mass, industrial exports were included, which are one of the novelties of the article. To differentiate the industrial sectors, two additional variables were used -average wages and the level of technological intensity. The results show a clear continuity of the regional deconcentration of the industry in the period. Such behavior, however, is differentiated according to the distinct industry groups identified. It should be noted that this movement occurs both in the period of greatest growth (2003/2008) and in the slowdown of the economy (2008/2013).
