The international energy environment is full of uncertainties. However, the aggravation of global warming and the stagnation of climate geopolitics reinforce the urgency for action and the development of adaptation policies. Europe has set up a long term energy vision which is very responsible and most European countries have now set up various paths of energy transitions. In France, the current debate on energy transition is limited by some political decisions (nuclear and shale gas,) but the priority which is given to energy efficiency and the decentralized process of the debate could generate a great number of innovations.
